Essentialism
Intro
Essentialism is about making space for the things that matter most.
Imagine how fulfilling your life would be if you only spent your time on things that truly matter.
Concept
Essentialism is a necessity for a fulfilling life. Without essentialism, your life will inevitably be filled with numerous worthless activities and duties.
Essentialism involves removing every activity, expense, and thought that does not directly contribute to your life areas. Spending time with your loved ones and taking care of your health are part of essentialism. It's not about working every waking hour but about using every hour wisely—taking care of yourself, having fun, and building something meaningful. Essentialism is a key to a fulfilling life. Focusing your energy and mind on a few priorities allows you to delve deeper into them and excel. This focus also helps you identify closely with the activities or tasks at hand, creating a strong sense of meaning and purpose.
One significant benefit of essentialism is the ability to say no easily. If something is not essential, you develop the habit of saying no effortlessly.
My Implementation
I implement essentialism by regularly filling out my monthly review. In it, I set priorities and remove everything from my life that is not essential, from activities in my calendar to expenses and physical goods.
Application
Step 1
Identify what is essential for you. Probably based on the life areas.
Step 2
Remove everything that is not essential. If this step doesn't hurt, you are probably removing too little.
Step 3
Regularly review your priorities and clean up.
Final Thought
Without essentialism, you will always be pushed around by life, unable to focus on what truly matters, and wondering where all your time, energy, and money went.
